How to Prepare for Your Breathwork Session
In-Person or Online with Confluence Breath & Bodywork
At Confluence Breath & Bodywork, we believe preparation is part of the healing. Whether you’re joining us for an in-person session in Bend, Oregon or tuning in virtually from your own space, these simple steps will help you feel grounded, supported, and ready for your breathwork journey.
General Preparation (For All Sessions)
Wear Comfortable Clothing
Choose loose, breathable layers that allow your body to relax fully while lying down or seated.
Hydrate Well
Drink plenty of water before and after your session to support your body’s natural release and integration process.
Eat Light
We recommend eating a small, nourishing meal 1–2 hours before your session. Avoid heavy food or stimulants like caffeine.
Arrive with an Open Mind
Come just as you are. Every session is unique — the best approach is to stay curious, open, and willing to let go.
Optional: Bring a Journal
After your session, you may want to reflect on your experience. Journaling is a helpful tool for integrating any insights or emotions that arise.
In-Person Sessions
If you’re joining us for an in-person session:
- Arrive 10–15 minutes early to settle in and get comfortable
- Bring your own yoga mat, blanket, and eye mask (optional but encouraged)
- A small pillow or bolster can offer added support
- Tissues and water may be available, but bringing your own is always welcome
- Essential oils (such as lavender, peppermint, or frankincense) may enhance your experience if used mindfully
We aim to create a peaceful, welcoming environment where you can safely release, reconnect, and recharge.
Virtual Sessions (Zoom Breathwork)
For those joining from home:
- Set up in a quiet, private space where you won’t be disturbed
- Use a yoga mat, rug, or bed for comfort, along with a blanket or cushion
- Wear headphones or use an external speaker for immersive sound
- Keep a light blanket, eye mask, or socks nearby for added comfort
- Have tissues on hand — emotional releases are natural and welcome
- Feel free to use essential oils to support grounding, focus, or emotional release
Ensure Zoom is downloaded and running ahead of time. Log in a few minutes early so you can settle in before we begin.
Final Thoughts
Your breathwork session is a time to come home to yourself — to pause, reflect, and reset. A few moments of thoughtful preparation can enhance the experience, helping you feel safe and supported throughout your journey.

During Your Session
• Breathwork: You’ll be guided through a rhythmic breathing pattern while lying down. Expect to feel deep relaxation, emotional release, and clarity.
• Reiki: You’ll either sit or lie down fully clothed while energy is gently balanced throughout your body. Many experience a sense of warmth, tingling, or deep peace.
• Yin Yoga: Poses are held for several minutes to stretch deep connective tissues, allowing for a meditative and calming experience.
All sessions are tailored to your needs, and you are welcome to ask questions before we begin.
