What It Means to Be a Trauma-Informed Breathwork Facilitator

In today’s fast-paced world, healing isn’t just about relaxation—it’s about safety, presence, and trust. Breathwork has become one of the most powerful tools for emotional release and nervous-system regulation, but for it to truly transform, it must be guided with trauma-informed awareness.

Understanding Trauma-Informed Breathwork

Being trauma-informed means recognizing that every person carries unique experiences—some visible, others unseen. A trauma-informed breathwork facilitator creates a space where participants feel safe, respected, and in control of their own process. It’s not about pushing or fixing—it’s about listening to the body and supporting what it’s ready to release.

In trauma-informed sessions, participants are always encouraged to move at their own pace, to choose whether to keep their eyes open or closed, and to reconnect with grounding techniques when emotions arise. This approach allows the body to process gently and naturally, without re-traumatization.

My Path to Trauma-Informed Facilitation

As a U.S. veteran, father, and lifelong student of healing, I’ve seen firsthand the importance of nervous-system awareness. My path into breathwork began after years of seeking balance and reconnection within myself and my community.

I trained personally under two internationally recognized breathwork teachers—Jon Paul Crimi (USA) and Ber Schurmann (Australia)—whose teachings combine science, heart, and presence. Through their guidance, and through my own years of experience, I’ve developed the Confluence Method: a blend of Conscious Connected Breathing, Reiki, mindfulness, and trauma-aware facilitation that supports healing from the inside out.

Why Trauma-Awareness Matters

When we slow down and breathe consciously, the body begins to remember safety. Trauma-informed breathwork helps people release held tension, find clarity, and build resilience. It’s a reminder that healing isn’t about doing more—it’s about allowing yourself to be.

Whether you’re joining from Bend, Oregon, or virtually from anywhere in the world, each Confluence session is designed to meet you where you are—with compassion, curiosity, and care.
